What is a Crooked House Concert?<\/h3>\n

Crooked House Concerts are held in the comfy and scenic living room of Shannon and Gary Wells in the town of Auburn, California. \u00a0Their first show was held in 2012, and they have hosted 42 of them so far. \u00a0They host shows for the love of music. \u00a0They are a heck of a lot of fun, and just about the best way to enjoy live music.<\/p>\n

Where are we located?<\/h3>\n

The Crooked House is located near Old Town Auburn. \u00a0Once you\u00a0make a reservation for a show, we’ll share our address and other important information with you.<\/p>\n

Ticket Information<\/h3>\n

We don’t use\u00a0tickets. \u00a0Since it’s a house concert, the musicians are paid in donations from audience members. \u00a0You reserve your seats, come to the show, drop your\u00a0donation into our collection envelope at the door, and enjoy some great music. \u00a0And the musicians get all<\/strong><\/em> of the money donated, so feel free to pay more!<\/p>\n

Is the House Crooked?<\/h3>\n

No, the house is not crooked, at least in the sense of falling over or containing shady misdeeds. \u00a0The name is actually a twist on Crooked Highway<\/a>, <\/strong><\/em>which is the name of the radio\u00a0program Gary hosts\u00a0on KVMR<\/a>.<\/em><\/strong> \u00a0That name was originally inspired by an Edward Abbey quote: \u00a0“May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view.” \u00a0Crooked Highway<\/em> led to Crooked House Concerts<\/em>\u00a0(and it doesn’t hurt that the first artists to ever play here were The Crooked Jades!)<\/em><\/p>\n
